Cinderella Castle holiday overlays impress
While visiting WDW last week with my family, we happened to be there the day Magic Kingdom started projecting its holiday imagery onto the castle at dark. No, this isn’t a replacement for holiday or Happily Ever After fireworks shows, but IT IS SOMETHING and the imagery brought a smile to my face.
I will note, on the first day of the projections, the anticipation was pretty high, and as a result, the crowds in the main hub area were above what I think would be considered safe in today’s world.
Since the projections rotate every 15 minutes through the evening, there is no need to get there right as they start, or right at the end. Take your time, and get the best views when it’s convenient to you - NO RUSH!
Overall I found the projections to be excellent. Very bright, festive, and still impressive to see on that kind of scale. They weren’t completely static either; there were small animations between the overlays and things like rotating snow flakes throughout.
You can see in the gallery below that my family and I definitely enjoyed them!
