Hits keep coming: Minnie Vans gone from WDW

As the title says, news is coming out today that all of the Disney World cast members that were part of the Minnie Van service, a Lyft-based point to point car service that started in 2017 but only grew to a sizable force in 2019, are part of the massive 28k person layoffs for the Disney parks division.

Transportation is always an interesting topic at Disney World, and our family had utilized the Minnie Van service many times while on trips, usually when we needed to go from one location to another that didn’t have a direct bus or monorail path, but occasionally just for speed, or to get straight from the airport to the park.

For our marathon / adult trips to Disney, they were great for getting to Disney Springs or parks and bars, getting around later at night, or just feeling like you were “living it up” while at Disney World.

My daughter Emmaline loved them, and always was amazed that Minnie Mouse herself would send her car to come pick us up! It’s both sad and incredibly inconvenient that these are gone. With this removal, and the lack of monorail service to Epcot, and the limited capacity of the buses because of physical distancing, transport at WDW is getting…pretty rough.
